Guinness beer in cupcakes! Brilliant!

As a follow-up to yesterday's post I now have pictures!

View of the beach from the balcony of our condo. See what I mean about it being so calm?

Geez, what a bunch of dorks.

Marie Laveau's House of Voodoo on Bourbon Street (the small wooden building on the right, not the large brick one with the gorgeous railings)

Yesterday I made chocolate stout cupcakes with cream cheese frosting from this recipe. The stout part refers, not to the size of your waist after eating them (although it could), but to the Guinness they're made with. And they were delicious. The beer makes a really interesting, subtle addition to the chocolate that cuts the sweetness. Highly recommended.

Yummy!
Maybe that's what I'll make for Alex's birthday this year. Love the pictures. Can't wait to get to NO one of these days.

You are brilliant for posting that recipe! I must make them now too. Yummmmmmmm.

Love the pictures! New Orleans really is a fascinating city. You just don't find that architecture anywhere else. :)

Ahhh, the Gulf. My fave.
