The first-look trailer for Elizabethtown is up! I am very excited, and not for the reason you're probably thinking. Okay, sure, Orlando's pretty and all, but I ADORE Cameron Crowe. No, really, I seriously LOVE that man's movies.

Elizabethtown looks pretty good, although the editing of the preview is reminiscent of the Garden State trailers. I am interested to see how this movie turns out, considering that I have limited confidence in the acting abilities of both Orlando Bloom and Kirsten Dunst. Okay, Kirsten has been in two of my all-time favorite movies, so she's got pretty good taste in choosing projects, but she is also partially responsible for my dissatisfaction with the Spider-man movies. And is Orlando really going to be able to pull off a Tennessee accent convincingly? I notice they barely let us hear any of his dialogue in the trailer, which makes me suspect they're doing a lot of ADR work on his parts.

Then again, this is Cameron Crowe we're talking about, the man who managed to make both Renee Zellweger and Kate Hudson look like Oscar material. He's got a real gift for putting the right actors in exactly the right roles to allow them to shine.

And it's got Judy Greer! And Patty Griffin! Yay! *can't wait*

Is the movie based upon the book of the same title? I read it, but did not love it.

I don't know, I didn't know there was a book--who wrote it? There's no mention of it in the IMDb listing, but that doesn't necessarily mean anything.

Hrm...I can't get the trailer to load on this computer. Weird. I'll have to try from home.

I am almost as excited as you for this, though your love of Cameron Crowe greatly surpasses mine. I just have the hots for Orlando Bloom and I really like Judy Greer.

The 'first look' thing didn't really seem like a trailer to me, it kind of set up the story but not really, I get the death thing and the romance thing and the Drew Baylor is stressed out and uptight thing. But I didn't get what all the dancing was about and the bird and the rock band. But still, I'm excited.
