It was the first Jack flashback episode where I didn't want to stab my eyes out with sporks. After she said she was leaving him I actually said "Wow, good acting Foxy." outloud.

I don't know, I think he's growing on me. Kate on the other hand... why is she trying to apologize to him, go be with Sawyer. Sawyer is the one for you!

And, die Charlie, DIE. Or get a decent backstory.

I didn't mind the flashback so much, it was the rest of it that bugged me. I just don't get why, from day one, everyone has always unquestioningly bowed to Jack's arrogant need to be in command of everything, whether he's qualified to do so or not. I almost jumped for joy when Locke finally called him on it tonight, but then of course they didn't actually follow through with it. Even Grizzly Adams inexplicably left the decision up to Jack, as if the other two men with him didn't count. And don't even get me started on the foolishness of allowing the only doctor on the island to go running off constantly on dangerous missions whenever the hell he pleases. If I was there I'd have him locked in that gun safe all the time just so he'd actually be around in case of a medical emergency. It's just so... GAH! *head explodes*

Charlie hasn't been great, but he's gotta go a long way to piss me off as much as Jack. Although, from the look of next week, he may be making great strides in that area.

I think Grizzly Adams was pretty equal-opportunity-blow-your-head-off with all three of them, cause he made a big deal about the guns. But yeah, I agree with you, and it's not the first time that Locke has made comments to that effect or tried to assert his own authority in place of Jack's faulty logic.

Watching the DVD stuff over the past week I think that J.J. and Damon could have had something really cool and slightly feminist even if ABC would have let them kill off Jack and leave Kate as the Hero as originally intended but it's just so cliche to have the Doctor/Hero Complex guy be validated by everyone else in the camp.

I appreciate that Locke and Hurley are the voice of the audience, but it seems like a concession from the writers rather than them actually being self-aware of what they're doing.

CTV gets different previews than ABC and this one for next week was really really over the edge with Charlie, I think his actions will be really inappropriate and maybe Grizzly Adams will string him up again.

I know! And where the hell has Sayid been, anyway? They need to get rid of everyone but Sayid, Locke, Hurley, Sawyer, Sun, Jin, Charlie, Rose, Bernard and Libby. And maybe I'll let Kate stick around just to get Sawyer all hot and bothered for us. Maybe.

Forget Kate, get rid of Charlie and have BabyMama instead for Sawyer, they'd be so cute. And Aaron already likes Sawyer.
