I did not enjoy Grey's Anatomy last night. It was way too much like an episode of ER. Part of the reason I watch Grey's is because it's not all about the awful tragedies and dramatic, horrible medical emergencies and endless human suffering. It's lighter, and funnier, and sweeter, and when it makes me sad, it's usually a cathartic kind of sad. Last night was just a tiresome string of annonymous strangers suffering. Which I can get from the news, thank you very much. Or from ER. I do not need another TWO episodes of this.

The Office was disappointing, too. Not as funny as usual and Michael was more painful than usual, without any redeeming moments. Scrubs was good, though. Thank god for Scrubs.

You know what heaven is, though? Heaven is when you manage to resist obsessively checking your favorite author's web site every couple of months to find out when his next book is coming out. And then when you finally do break down and check, discovering that it JUST CAME OUT! And you can run out to Barnes & Noble RIGHT NOW and pick up a copy! Whee! I'll be curled up on the couch, reading all day.

ITA agree with you about Grey's Anatomy these days. Although I think what bothered me more about last night's was how poorly plotted it turned out to be. It's really becoming clear how much better some of the characters are than the show. Ugh.

And this is why I've started watching Supernatural on Thursday and catching the rerun of GA on Friday--if I hear it sucks on Friday morning, I can just not bother. Supernatural's bad, but on purpose, and it has Ben Edlund.

I agree as well that The Office was unusually uncomfortable now, but it was worth it to learn that Webster's defines "wedding" as merging two metals, often with a hot torch.

I keep meaning to read Kay--what should I start with?

That was pretty surreal...I almost didn't click the link because it's not as if many people share any of my few favorite authors. But I thought zomgwhatifit'sGGK because I knew the next book was due out sometime soon and then I was all zomgwhatifit'sout. I must have somehow subliminally remembered you had GGK as an interest. Did you ever spend any time at the forums over on BW? They used to be quite fun.

Anyway, yay! Ysabel! Yay!

Wow, I actually enjoyed last night's Grey's Anatomy because it *wasn't* an endless stream of everyone's neuroses and childishness. I found it refreshing that all of the characters had to abandon their usual memememeeeeeeeee attitudes and focus on the fact that (a) other people exist in this world, (b) these people have tragedies and suffering much worse that will-I-or-won't-I-marry-this-total-ass and (c) we are doctors and this is why we're here. Yes, it was a total deviation from what this show usually is and to me, that's not a bad thing at all.
