Seriously, I can't tell you guys how cool is for our state to actually be in play for once. In the general election, of course, everyone just assumes Texas will go republican, so no one wastes any time or money campaigning here. And usually the primaries are pretty much all sewn up by Super Tuesday so it's a moot point by the time our primary rolls around. The election judge said in one primary they had all of four people turn up to vote, including her.
Not this year, though. We've actually been getting robo calls and political ads. Political ads, ya'll! We never get political ads down here. And I got an Obama sticker after I voted. Whee!
And after the polls close tonight I'm going to the caucus. Yes, in Texas we have both a primary and a caucus, so we basically get to vote twice. Even though I'm quite sure it will be dull I'm still excited because I've never been to a caucus before.
In other exciting news, we're totally going to London this fall! I booked all our reservations this weekend so it's officially official. We'll be in London Oct. 11-18 and we've got tickets to David Tennant's Hamlet in Stratford on the 14th!
Hamlet, ya'll! With David Tennant! And Patrick Stewart as Claudius! I'm so excited I may actually split in half. I read an article on it a while back that said all it needed was Billy Boyd and Dominic Monaghan playing Rosencrantz and Guildenstern it'd be like a sci fi fandom supernova.
