Leverage wallpapers

So one of the challenges for leverageland this heist was to make a pair of wallpapers featuring Eliot. I don't usually stretch my graphic wings this much, but it was tons of fun of work on something more complex for a change. And one of my walls actually managed to win some stuff!

When I was making the second one I thought it sort of looked like a superhero trading card, so for fun I decided to go ahead and make a matching set for the whole Leverage team.

They are all free for the snagging if anyone is so inclined, just please don't repost them or hotlink, yadda yadda yadda.

Thank you! I've never really done much collage work, even when I was a graphic designer, so it's all kind of new to me. And I don't usually have the patience for stuff this intricate, but I just couldn't resist this time! Sophie's was the hardest, because I couldn't figure out what to use for her, but then I found those sparkles brushes I just knew they were perfect for her!

I love them, all of them! I think I already told you how much I love the first one. But the idea of the trading cards is awesome! Much love for that!

I have a question. Any chance you would share sort of how you made them (like a tutorial kind of thing)? And maybe where you got your textures from? Just, you know, if you want to that is. Because they're amazing!

The original Eliot one was based off a tutorial I found. I'll have to go dig around and see if I can find it again. I'll see what I can come up with and get back to you ...

Since we're trading secrets, I'd love to know what textures you used on your wallpapers. Especially the red one. I love that one so much.

Okay, here's the tutorial I used: http://millergurl.livejournal.com/43133.html

As you can see, I used the same background texture and grungy stripe brushes on the Eliot one, I just adapted the composition to better suit my tastes. I think I also added a scratchy film texture over the whole thing, too.

I reused the background for the others, but I colorized it using different gradient maps. The brushes are from all different places. I spent a ridiculous amount of time browsing through brush comms looking for just the right ones for each character.
