The cunning hat is going amazingly well. It's a wicked easy pattern, I guess because the hat is supposed to look kind of shoddy and simple. I figured out how to pick up stitches all by my lonesome and I've only got one ear flap and the pom pom left and then it'll be done! Man, is it ugly.

Took the munchkin to see March of the Penguins over the weekend. It was... a movie about penguins mating. I mean, it was all right, but I guess all the hype led me to believe that it was this amazingly spectacular and engrossing documentary, whereas it seemed like just your standard nature docu to me. The penguins were cute and all, but I'm not sure why it's so outrageously popular. *shrug*

The munchkin started second grade today, but I picked her up early to take her to her appointment at the sports medicine clinic. Turns out one of her sprains is actually a tiny little fracture, but it's so small that the only thing to do for it is to restrict her participation in certain activities, like gymnastics and roller skating and bike riding.

Oh, man that sucks for her. Glad you went in though. Poor kid. Give her hugs and chocolate from me.

Hugs to the munchkin! And second grade? Wow! Why did I not put two and two together and realize that the munchkin is the same age as THREE of my nieces? LOL

Hmmm about MOFP. I definitely wanted to see that with my nieces and sister. Still worth it?

Everyone else seems to like it, so maybe your nieces will too. I think I just had my expectations too high. Although the munchkin was pretty darned bored.

Heh. Awesome icon. I laughed about 30 seconds before everyone else in the theatre at that scene b/c as soon as they flipped to the sofas, I knew what was coming. Awesome change for the movie!

Aww, poor Moppet. And the restricted activities are pretty fun, too. :( How long will the fracture take to heal itself?

He said to give it about six weeks from the injury, which happened about two weeks ago. It's no biggie, but I'm gonna have to see if I can get my money back for those gynastics lessons.

Certain activities? But... she's a kid! Those are the staples of a kid's life! Ah, poor munchkin.

And poor Mom. Hope the next four weeks go smoothly.
