I hereby nominate "Reunion" for Worst New Show of the 2005 Fall Season. I know, it's kinda early, most of the new shows haven't even premiered yet. But I defy the networks to produce another show as bad as this one. 'Cause, whoa, it stinks.

I won't go into a laundry list of the awful dialogue or the ridiculous plot holes, because they're too numerous. But it is obvious that no one connected with this show actually remembers 1986. Their way of evoking the past is to gratuitously cram the soundtrack and dialogue with overly-obvious '80s music. I mean, the show actually starts with an image of the six characters hugging in their graduation gowns to "Don't You Forget About Me." And then later, two characters argue about whether or not Wham is the next Beatles. I. Am. Not. Lying.

It's trying so hard to be "The O.C." meets St. Elmo's Fire and fails so spectacularly at it that it's just painful to watch. And not really in that so-bad-it's-good way, either.

You get a gold star for watching it, hon. The previews looked so craptastic. Ugh.

And then later, two characters argue about whether or not Wham is the next Beatles.

That is just. so. wrong.

I sorta thought maybe it'd be craptastic in a cheesy, fun way. But no, it's just plain bad.

I'm sad that you had to sit through it all, but you're a saint for warning the rest of us.

I kind of assumed from the little article in my local paper that it was gonna be like the fiction-serialized version of VH1's "Back in" show. Which, you know, isn't much to speak of anyway.

OK, don't read my recent entry, cause I actually kinda liked it. It wasn't the greatest thing ever, but I found it entertaining. Yes, there were plot holes (I talked about that in my review), but I like the mystery angle. I don't watch the OC because I'm not big on soapy shows, so I need something else.

Anyway, didn't mind it. But I can see your points.

You are a better woman than I, I turned it off less than ten minutes in because I was being hurt by all the anvils falling. Granted, I'd read an earlier version of the script, but it was even more awful than I thought it would be.
